Judge Tim McGuire was appointed Rockdale County Juvenile Court Judge in October 2024. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history from Duke University and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law.

Judge McGuire first came to Rockdale County in late 2001 as an Assistant District Attorney to handle Juvenile Court. As an A.D.A., Judge McGuire handled thousands of cases in Juvenile Court. In addition, during his time as juvenile court prosecutor, Judge McGuire was instrumental in starting the Rockdale Teen Court program, Juvenile Drug Court program, and Juvenile Mental Health Resource Court program.

Judge McGuire has lived in Rockdale County since 2005.

The Juvenile Court Judge hears all cases involving delinquency and traffic matters for children under 17, and all dependency cases.

The Juvenile Court Judge is appointed to a four-year term.
