Jennifer Rutledge
Jennifer O. Rutledge is the Director of Legislative Affairs/County Clerk and has been a part of Rockdale County government since 1997. She serves to advise the Board of Commissioners on policy matters and works in collaboration with the Chief of Staff and the County Attorney’s Office. She also serves as the liaison to the Rockdale County federal and state delegation as well as the County lobbying entities, such as NACo, ACCG and other lobbyist firms.
Director Rutledge serves as the Records Manager for the County as well as official custodian of records for the Board of Commissioners. She carries out these duties as described in the Georgia Open Records Act. Ms. Rutledge is responsible for preparing and distributing the Board of Commissioners agendas and calendar; various research projects, codification of the Code of Rockdale County, Georgia; maintaining the volunteer boards and supervising office personnel.
Ms. Rutledge studied Political Science at Georgia State University. She has continued her education in public administration and local government through the Carl Vinson Institute division of the University of Georgia in conjunction with Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and Georgia Records Association (GRA), earning Certified County Clerk, Certified Records Manager and Certified County Official.
She is an active member of the Georgia County Clerks Association, The Georgia Records Association, a past Board member of the Rockdale County Historical Society and an ARC 2015 Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta (ALMA) alumni. She is passionate about arts and culture, and spends her free time in numerous volunteer capacities in support of the arts.
