ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – Commissioner Washington of Rockdale County has been appointed to the Atlanta Regional Commission’s (ARC) Local Leadership Housing Action Committee (LLHAC), a distinguished group of local leaders committed to addressing housing affordability issues. Commissioner Washington joins the committee for the upcoming 2024 season after two years of successful initiatives.
ARC’s LLHAC comprises city and county commissioners and mayors dedicated to enhancing housing affordability in metro Atlanta. Committee members will convene monthly, both virtually and in person, engaging in the following activities:
- Open and detailed discussions about the challenges of addressing housing issues within their local jurisdictions.
- Deepening their understanding of the issues and challenges surrounding housing affordability.
- Committing to a shared set of actions to address housing challenges in their local jurisdictions.
Commissioner Washington has demonstrated her commitment to securing housing for Rockdale County citizens by actively engaging in learning, understanding, and effecting positive change to place people in quality homes. Ensuring Rockdale County residents have access to safe, quality, and affordable housing remains a top priority for Commissioner Washington.
