Energy Efficient Recycling and Waste Reduction Purchasing Policy

NOTICE:
Pursuant to the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act (the “GSICA”), Rockdale County may not enter into contracts for the physical performance of services within Georgia unless the contractor or subcontractor registers and participates in the E-Verify program. Contracts must contain provisions demonstrating compliance with the GSICA and affidavits of compliance required by the GSCIA must be provided which affirm that the contractor/subcontractor will use E-Verify through the contract period. Bids and proposals may not be considered if the required affidavits are not attached. Past affidavits may not be used in support of new contracts. Rockdale County is also required to verify citizenship status in the provision of local public benefits. Contracts with Rockdale County for the purchase and sale of goods and services are considered public benefits. Accordingly, individuals and companies wishing to contract with Rockdale County for the provision of goods and services must provide Rockdale County with an Affidavit Verifying Status for County Public Benefit Application for each contract.

Rockdale County sells surplus property via the Internet. The property is auctioned through an online auction service called GovDeals. The website for GovDeals is www.govdeals.com.

This service offers the citizens of Rockdale County an opportunity to purchase surplus items year-round as opposed to an annual County auction. To view Rockdale County surplus items currently available for auction, simply visit the GovDeals homepage, click on the link “Advanced Search,” select “Georgia” and “Rockdale County” from the list of sellers. If Rockdale County is not listed, there are no surplus items currently available for auction.

Those wishing to bid on items must register with GovDeals, but it is not required to register to view the available items. All items are sold “as is” and Rockdale County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Rockdale County collects payments for all items sold. Rockdale County accepts money order or bank certified cashiers check.
