Personal Property Reporting

Reporting of certain types of personal property for taxation purposes is required under the Georgia Code. It does not include homeowners’ furniture, but does pertain to boats that are kept within Rockdale at least 184 days of a year, airplanes that are hangered in Rockdale County, and in most cases equipment, machinery, fixtures, and inventory of a business. The Board of Assessors maintains a file of all accounts now reporting. If your property is included in this file, a reporting form will be sent to you at or near the first of each year. To avoid late filing penalties, you must complete and return the form before its due date.

All must be POSTMARKED by the U.S. Postal Service no later than April 1.

You are responsible for reporting all taxable personal property. Failure to do so will result in penalties being assessed against you. If you own a business, airplane, or a boat/motor, please call the Assessors Office for reporting information.
