Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) 2018

In September 2018, the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners adopted Rockdale County’s most recent version of the Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP).  This Comprehensive Transportation Plan is an analysis of all forms of transportation to determine existing and future needs, identify solutions, and prepare an implementation plan.  Click Here to view a brief summary pamphlet of the CTP process that was presented to the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners on September 18, 2018.

There were three overall phases to the process:

  1. Inventory of Existing Conditions – Data related to the existence, condition and performance of the transportation network was collected and documented
  2. Needs Assessment – Transportation facilities were assessed to identify service and conditions adequate to meet current and future community needs. Click Here to read a detailed report documenting these https://rockdalecountyga.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Rockdale-in-Motion-Existing-Conditions-and-Needs-Assessment-Report.pdf‘Existing Conditions’ and ‘Needs Assessment’ phases of the CTP.  Click Here to view Appendix material related to these phases of the process.
  3. Recommendations – Transportation projects and policies were developed to address existing and future transportation needs.  An action plan was developed that reflects current available funding sources and feasible policy actions that can be taken at the city/county level.  Click Here to read a detailed CTP Recommendations Report.
