Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful (KCRB) is holding its second Electronics Recycling & Paper Shredding event this year for Rockdale residents and business owners. This event will be held Sat., Sept 9, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the parking lot of the Rockdale County Government Annex, 1400 Parker Road, Conyers, 30094.
The first Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling event in May, at the same time and location, drew more than 150 cars through the line to clear out old electronics and shred sensitive documents onsite within the four-hour span of the event.
According to Atlanta Recycling Solutions, participants collectively brought nearly 5,400 lbs. of metal, plastic, glass, computer housing and peripheral equipment to be recycled. A Cut Above, who served as the paper shredding vendor, shredded 3 tons of paper during the event.
Following the success in May, KCRB is offering another free, half-day event to provide the public a place to safely discard and recycle old paper and electronics. As trusted vendors for this event, Atlanta Recycling Solutions and A Cut Above will, again, securely handle all items on site under the close supervision of government staff.
There is a maximum of 4 banker boxes per vehicle allowed for paper shredding, and participants must provide photo ID as proof of an address in the County for both shredding and recycling.
Cash fees will apply to certain items for electronics recycling, including $20 each for TVs and $10 each for CRT monitors. All other electronics are free to recycle. The following is a list of items accepted/not accepted at the event.
