Jamie Cabe is the current Chief of Staff for the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners. His appointment was unanimously approved by the Board of Commissioners during the December 8, 2020 Voting Session and became effective on January 1, 2021.
Jamie was raised in Rockdale County where he attended K-12 with Rockdale County Public Schools, graduating from Rockdale County High School. He began a career in law enforcement on his 18th birthday as a Police Dispatcher after serving 4 years as a volunteer Police Explorer during high school. During the following 20-years, Jamie worked in various law enforcement positions, eventually earning the rank of Captain. In 2018, he decided to continue his service to the community by accepting the appointment as the Chief Deputy Clerk of Superior and State Courts. On April 1, 2020, Jamie was commissioned by Governor Brian Kemp through Operation of Law to serve as Clerk of Superior and State Courts for Rockdale County, after the retirement of the Honorable Ruth A. Wilson. Jamie served the citizens of Rockdale County in this capacity until his term ended on December 31, 2020.
Jamie is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Rockdale, which is sponsored by the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce. He proudly serves as a Board Member for the Conyers-Rockdale Council for the Arts and as a Board Member for the Conyers-Rockdale Library Board of Trustees. Jamie is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Conyers and a member of the Rotary Club of Conyers. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercer University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbus State University. His main hobby is to travel and learn about other cultures.
