Hydro Fit:

HydroFit, is an interval training class that will alternate between different equipment, such as noodles, water barbells, and aqua steps, to make each class fun and interesting.

AquaFlex:

This is a medium-impact water class designed to provide cardiovascular conditioning, improved muscle tone, and improved balance.

Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays
Times: 10:00 a.m. – 10:50 am.
Fee: $50.00 per 18 visits – County residents and/or
$75.00 per 18 visits – Non-County residents

Blended Lifeguarding Class

Fee: $250 Must be enrolled 4 days prior to Prerequisite Class
$215.00 paid to Johnson Park and $35 paid to Red Cross by Credit Card to enroll Online.

Prerequisite Swim Test: (4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Session 4: August 15

Prerequisite:

Candidates must be 15 years of age by the final scheduled lesson and complete the following skills:
Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Candidates will tread water for 2 minutes using only legs. Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds; Beginning in water swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to the starting point. Candidates must then exit the water without the use of a ladder.
If you are unable to complete the prerequisites as required by the American Red Cross, you will not be able to attend or participate in the class. The Blended Learning Classes involve an online portion to the class and ALL students will be required to have access to www.classes.redcross.org
NOTE: If you do not pass the prerequisite you will receive a 50% refund. If you do not successfully complete the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training class after successfully completing the prerequisite requirement, you will not be eligible for a refund. Waterfront Lifeguarding Update

The purpose of the Waterfront Skills module is to teach lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in nonsurf, open-water areas found at public parks, resorts, summer camps, and
campgrounds. You must have a current lifeguarding certification to take this class.

CPR Saturdays

This is an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Class. Class will cover standard first aid with CPR/AED for Adults and Children. If participants are interested in adding the infant module, it will increase the class length and must be noted during registration. This certification lasts for 2 years. Please bring lunch/snacks and drink.

Basic Water Rescue

The American Red Cross Basic Water Rescue course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and respond to many types of aquatic emergencies. This course also prepares individuals for aquatic emergencies by teaching them how to protect themselves while assisting others. The Basic Water Rescue course does not provide participants with all the knowledge and skills needed to be certified as a lifeguard.

Youth Swim Lessons

Johnson Park Pool has teamed up with the American Red Cross to offer their Learn-to-Swim Program. Each class must have a minimum of four participants to begin. Participants must pre-register for all classes. All classes meet twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday for four weeks.

Parent and Child Aquatics

Ages: 6 months to 3 years old (one child per parent)
Days and Times: Tuesday and Thursday 5 – 5:30 p.m.
Classes may be added/dropped according to registration

        $75 per session for Non-County Residents

Children will adjust to the water by learning skills such as placing the face in the water, flutter kicks and pre-floating skills. All parents are taught how to instruct their children and recognize any errors in their child’s swimming technique. Children are required to wear swim diapers. Parents must be in the water with their children. Instructors will work at the skill level of each child regardless of varied abilities.

Beginners

Ages: 4-5 years old
Days and Times: Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Classes may be added/dropped according to registration
Fee: $60 per session for County Residents
         $75 per session for Non-County Residents

This class is for students 4 and 5 years old who are ready to learn introductory water skills as well as beginner swimming skills. Students will learn to enter the pool properly, float, glide and the basics of the front crawl and other Red Cross Swim levels.

 Intermediate

Ages:6 and up
Days and Times: Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 pm-6:30 pm
Classes may be added/dropped according to registration
Fee: $60 per session for County Residents
       $75 per session for Non-County Residents

 This class is for students 6 years and older. It introduces children to all levels of American Red Cross Learn-to- Swim Lessons with little or no experience to basic swimming skills. Students will learn front crawl, rhythmic breathing and other Red Cross Swim levels.

Advanced
Ages: 6 and up
Days and Times: Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 pm-7:00 pm
Classes may be added/dropped according to registration
Fee: $60 per session for County Residents
        $75 per session for Non-County Residents

Participants will need to be capable of completing 1 full length of the pool with rhythmic breathing and are comfortable in the water. Students will learn rotary breathing, endurance and correct the other strokes like back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Adult Swim Lessons

Level I Beginners- 10:15am: This class is for students who have little or no experience of basic swimming skills.  Class teaches basic swim skills, floating, gliding, flutter kick, and the basics of the front crawl.

Level II Beginners- 11am: This class is for students who are proficient with Level I Beginner skills and have completed that class.  This class will teach rhythmic breathing, back stroke, and other Red Cross Swim Skills.

Level I Intermediate- 11:45am: Participants in this class will need to be capable of swimming 1 full length of the pool with rhythmic breathing without stopping and are comfortable in deep water.  Students in this class will learn rotary breathing, endurance and correct the strokes like back crawl.  The class will teach other strokes like breaststroke and butterfly per request of participants.

County Fee:$70 per session (8 classes)
Non-County Fee: $87 per session (8 classes)
