Transportation

The MISSION of Rockdale County Department of Transportation (RDOT), including Public Works and Maintenance, is to be responsive to the citizens of the County by supporting an attractive community image; by constructing and maintaining a Transportation network that promotes the safe and efficient movement of people and goods within and through the county; and by adequately supporting Economic Development activity.  RDOT is responsible for the planning, development, and maintenance of the county infrastructure including over 500 miles of roads/streets, bridges, sidewalks, grounds, and facilities. RDOT also implements the short and long range infrastructure improvements. Departmental staff coordinate county roadway infrastructure improvements with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA), and City of Conyers staff.
