JULY

AIRR SUMMER CAMP: TEEN EDITION
Come explore all AIRR Teen Summer Camp has to offer! This is a four week day camp designed to cater to the needs of teenagers ages 13-22 with disabilities. Campers will stay busy engaging in music, art, games, sports and field trips. Registration requires parents to complete paperwork in person at Johnson Park. If your child has not attended camp with us in the past, a short assessment will be conducted to determine eligibility. Call 770-278-7252 to get more details about registration. Family support funding is accepted.

Disability Resource Meeting
Navigating resources for children and adults with disabilities is an overwhelming task for families. AIRR wants to help by bringing in an expert in this area to share information and resources to families. Topics that will be covered include: family support funding, education support, Medicaid waivers, extra-curricular activities, support groups and what resources are available after graduation. Andrea Ford will be answering questions from parents and leading this round table discussion.

Martin Luther King Museum

In honor of Martin Luther King, we’ll visit the famous museum in Atlanta to learn more about one of America’s most influential leaders.

“A.I.R.R kids  is a program designed to cater to the needs of children with and without disabilities. This program provides children with the opportunity to engage in activities centered around play, music, social skills, art and community outings.” Ages 4-11

Parents’ Night Out: Pajama Party
Parents enjoy a night away while the kiddos participate in some fun activities. Dressed in their favorite PJs and playing with their favorite stuffed friend. There will be a movie, crafts and snacks. This program is designed to cater to the needs of both children with and without disabilities. **Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 9:00 p.m.**

Sports Skills
This class is designed to cater to the needs of children ages 4-8 with developmental disabilities. This class will work on developing gross motor skills essential for playing sports such as dribbling, passing, shooting, running and communicating. The class will be run through a variety of games to get kids moving and using these essential skills.

Special Olympics

Special Olympics Softball
We will be holding a softball registration night for all those interested in playing Special Olympics Softball and being considered for the State Games. It is very important that you show up to this meeting. We will be checking forms for the upcoming fall State Games.

Special Olympics Bocce
Bocce has been played for centuries but is new to Rockdale County; Bocce requires a minimum physical ability but a maximum of strategy, teamwork and fun. It’s also an excellent way of meeting other adults with similar interests.
