Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful Collected 123 Trees for Chipper Event

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful (KCRB) and the Conyers Home Depot collected over 123 trees Saturday, January 4, 2020. Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful board members alongside Rockdale County and City of Conyers employees assisted residents with unloading their trees and passing out tree seedlings.

“Events like this is why sustainability matters to our community and I am so proud of all the residents who recycled their trees this year,” says Chairman Oz Nesbitt.

Across the state, thousands of volunteers in hundreds of Georgia’s communities come together for the Chipper event. Since its inception in 1991, more than 27 years ago, the program has collected more than 6 million trees for beneficial reuse.  The mulch from these trees has been used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects, and individual yards. To inquire about receiving mulch residents are encouraged to contact Davey Trees at 770-451-7911. Standard load sizes are between 15-20 cubic yards. They cannot dump half loads, all dumping is final.
