RDOT to Hold Open House About Courtesy Parkway Extension Project 


ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – The Rockdale County Department of Transportation (RDOT) will be holding a public information open house on Thurs., June 6 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, 1877 Iris Drive, Conyers, GA 30013.

Please drop in between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to gain insight and provide comment on RDOT’s upcoming Courtesy Parkway Extension Project. The project will stretch from Old Covington Hwy to Flat Shoals Rd.

The purpose is to alleviate traffic congestion on HWY 138 and the existing I-20 interchange along Dogwood Dr. It should also reduce frequency and severity of crashes, particularly rear-end collisions.

The cost of the project is $24 million and the expected completion date is Oct 2021, totaling at about 30 months of construction time.

Residents who are unable to attend the open house can go to the RDOT Office, 2570 Old Covington Highway SW, Conyers, GA  30012 for renderings and questions.
