Rockdale County Introduces New DA at Meet and Greet
CONYERS, Ga. – Rockdale County is hosting a meet and greet to welcome the Honorable Alisha Adams Johnson as the new District Attorney in Rockdale County on Tues., Feb. 6, 6 p.m. at J.P. Carr Community Center, 981 Taylor St, Conyers. This is a momentous occasion, as Ms. Johnson was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal as the district attorney for Rockdale County, and she is the first African American and first woman in this role.
Johnson received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College. During her third year of law school at Georgia State University, she began her internship with the Rockdale County District Attorney’s office, making Johnson an employee with the office for more than 12 years. Johnson was named an assistant district attorney in Rockdale County upon graduation from law school, and is now succeeding District Attorney Richard Read, who announced his resignation on Dec. 31.
