Rockdale County Fire-Rescue to Hold Groundbreaking for New Fire Station

CONYERS, Ga. – Rockdale County Fire Rescue is breaking ground on a new Fire Station 2. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Tues., Jan. 16, 10 a.m. at the new location for the station at 778 Bell Road, Conyers.

The new station will replace the existing Fire Station 2 built in the mid-70s. The new building will be larger, more energy efficient, lower maintenance, able to house more auxiliary equipment, and is to cost an estimated $1.7 million through SPLOST funding. With the current ground breaking on this project, it is expected to be completed in September 2018. Groundbreaking on a new Fire Station 3 will soon follow.
