Rockdale County Fire-Rescue to Hold Groundbreaking for Fire Station 3
CONYERS, Ga. – Following the groundbreaking for the new Fire Station 2, Rockdale County Fire-Rescue is breaking ground to rebuild Fire Station 3. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Tues., Feb. 20, 10 a.m. at Fire Station 3, 2450 Old Salem Rd, Conyers.
Fire Station 3, built in the mid-70s, will be demolished and rebuilt. The new building will be larger, more energy efficient, lower maintenance, able to house more auxiliary equipment, and is to cost an estimated $1.7 million through SPLOST funding. With the current ground breaking on this project, it is expected to be completed in September 2018 along with the completion of the new Fire Station 2.
