BOC to Honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month during Oct. 10 Meeting
CONYERS, Ga. – In support of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners (BOC) will be holding a “Pink Out” at their next BOC Meeting. This meeting will be held on Tues., Oct. 10, 10 a.m. in the Assembly Hall at 901 Main St., Conyers, 30012.
During this meeting, the BOC and County Leadership will wear pink to show their support of breast cancer awareness. The BOC will also be presenting a proclamation highlighting October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Pink Pooch Organization for the 5th Annual Pink Pooch Parade and Festival, which will take place on Sun., Oct. 29.
With breast cancer affecting hundreds of thousands of women and, in rare cases, men, the Pink Pooch Parade and Festival is a community event that unites pets and people to bring awareness to breast cancer in Rockdale. The organization helps to raise funds supporting families in need, families affected by breast cancer, and community children’s organizations.
The Oct. 10 BOC Meeting is open to the public, and the public is invited to attend. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
